Preparing for your exam

It is important to prepare for your examination, as this will allow us to provide you the best care possible. Below we have outlined the best way to prepare for your exam.

  • Bring a CD with any previous studies related to this procedure for comparison with your current examination, unless that prior exam was done at our facility
  • Please bring anything in writing from your referring doctor
  • Take all medications as prescribed
  • Leave all valuables at home.
  • Allow one hour for each MRI exam scheduled
  • Results will be sent to your referring doctor within 1 business day
  • Please call us prior to appointment if you are pregnant or have a cardiac pacemaker, cardiac valves, implanted cardiac defibrillator, aneurysm clips, cochlear ear implants, heart stents, retinal implants, or any known metallic foreign body
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment for registration
  • Brain (Head) MRI - Please do not wear make-up. Hair pins and clips must be removed prior to the examination
  • Abdominal MRI - Do not ear or drink anything 3 hours prior to the exam
